Te MataHawkes Bay, New Zealand This is New Zealands oldest winery, established in 1896 and since 1978 has been owned by the Bucks and the Morrises. This is no lightweight-airy-fairy-flimsy-fluffy operation, John Buck's 30 year development plan has developed. and so has John! Te Mata is an icon winery, in similar vein to great Bordeaux properties. Peter Cowley has been making the wines here since 1984 so he has the hang of that.
