Girls rule here OK? Yes very OK, Rebecca and Lucy have everything under control having started from a very sound base provided by their parents, Craig and Mignonne. This is quiz-night material - the only Australian winery run by two sisters. But seriously, Becky (winemaker) is stamping her own identity on the wines while Lucy (marketing) has the easy job of fighting off swarms of hopeful buyers. All this is backed up with Craig and Mignonne holding a watching brief and Tom, Rebecca's husband, focusing on "the environmental sustainability of and biodydynamic practices in the vineyards" ie common sense. The good news for frogs is that a "zero footprint" water initiative is being introduced so the only irrigation in the Matilda Plains vineyard will be from treated winery waste water stored in a man-made wetland. Bog?

Rated a 5*winery with 8 of their wines being awarded 90 pts. or above in Hallidays Wine Companion 2008. The Old Adam Shiraz was awarded 97 pts. - the same as Grange and Hill of Grace.

Watch out boys!

Latest:

The Willson sister’s from Bremerton Wines have again topped the scores in the newly released James Halliday 2009 Australian Wine Compendium.

The 2008 compendium listed their 2004 Old Adam Shiraz on 97 points as equal best Shiraz in Australia with Grange and Hill of Grace and the 2004 Bremerton Reserve Cabernet has been voted equal top Cabernet Sauvignon in the 2009 Compendium.

Winemaker Rebecca Willson said “To achieve that level of quality for two different varieties speaks volumes for our vineyards and Langhorne Creek as a premium region”. To think that Old Adam Shiraz has scored 93 or better five years in a row and Reserve Cabernet has scored 96 points three out of the last four years is amazing”

The other member of the Bremerton Willson sister’s winemaking team Lucy added “One of the exciting things for us is that once again seven of our
wines achieved 90 points or better” and it is the fourth year in a row where we have scored outstanding points.Even our second tier Shiraz “Selkirk” has achieved scores of 92 or better in the last four years”

Once again the winery achieved a five star rating and in Halliday’s words the winery “can lay claim to be the best producer from Langhorne Creek”.
